What Is Your Passion Or Talent?
You are probably wondering why I would ask, What Is Your Passion Or Talent? There are a couple of reasons why this question, in particular, is so important.
First of all, if you have a passion or a talent, (and everyone has at least one), you’ve probably thought about making money with it off line or online .
Secondly, this is one of the first steps in List Building. If you love something so much that you could never see yourself giving it up, then this is your passion.
When you are deciding on a niche, this is what you are supposed to think about, what is your passion or talent?
I believe that passion and talent are very closely related. You love what you’re doing because you are good at it. Even if you’re not good at it, you just can’t step away from it. It’s like a drug because you’re always drawn to it.
In my personal story, here is an example of a hobby I couldn’t tear myself away from. Dollhouses and miniatures. I loved this hobby so much, that I made a business out of it. It was like I was always playing because it was so much fun putting rooms together, etc.
The only reason I’m not still creating is because my eyes don’t work the way they used to.
My hobby is still dollhouses and miniatures and I still love it but, it’s very detailed work. I really miss the creativity part of it but, now I’ve replaced it with Internet Marketing.
How did dollhouses and miniatures turn into Internet Marketing? Good question! I’ve always been fascinated with the Internet but, it wasn’t until my eyes wouldn’t let me do the detailed work that I loved, is when, I turned to Internet Marketing/Affiliate Marketing.
One of my passions is to be able to help people and volunteer work has always been in my life.
Replacing A Passion And A Talent, For A Passion
Internet Marketing, to me, is fascinating and I love it! It’s difficult to tear myself away from my computer and helping others achieve success is a passion of mine. So, I figured, I could kill two birds with one stone and build an Internet Marketing business and help others start their businesses and put them on the road to success.
Suggestions For Making Money With Your Passion Or Talent
If you want to make money from the comfort of your home, there is a place online called Etsy.com.This is a place where you can sell your homemade crafts.
You’ll find people from around the world selling on this platform. There is always eBay and Amazon where you can sell almost everything.
You will need a PayPal account but, that’s easy enough to accomplish.
My personal experience on eBay has been good and I’ve sold several different items with good results. Let’s not forget the obvious! Put up your own website and sell affiliate products until you can get some of your own products online. You can open your own store on Amazon but, this is a little more involved.
One place to look into is the craft fair market. There you will meet other vendors who sell goods that are completely different from yours and others who have similar items for sale.
This is an excellent way to network, but more importantly, this is an excellent way to check out the competition and to see where you may need to improve your craft or even to step up your game.
While craft fairs are obvious, don’t forget about hosting your own home parties. Many crafters don’t think of selling their goods from home because they are not a nationally known brand and do not have any tiers for selling, prizes to be won, or incentives.
However, this may be the exact thing that your friends, family members, and co-workers are looking for – to come to your home and pick up some much-needed holiday or birthday gifts without having to go any further than that.
If you are an expert at something like baking, playing piano, or painting, one of the best and most lucrative ways to make money and have fun doing what you love is to teach classes. Look into your local Y and see if they can offer you some space.
If not, consider hosting these classes from home. This can be quite lucrative as you are offering your services without much (if any) overhead. This is an excellent way to make money with your craft or hobby. Don’t forget about Udemy if you are going to teach classes.
When you bring your own students to Udemy it’s free but, when Udemy brings students to you they charge you 50% of the course fee. Their claim is that 90% of the instructors make sales and instructors on average earn $7,000 a year per course. Not bad!
Imagine if you had 10 or 20 good courses, on Udemy, the kind of money you could make.
If you have a craft that you love to make, think about teaching a group of seniors how to create this craft for themselves. Not only will you make extra money, but also, you will be offering some much-needed recreation to a needy market.
Joining a club or community activity is a great way to introduce yourself and your craft to a completely new set of individuals. Taking classes is another viable option to networking with others.
Don’t forget about fundraisers – especially if you put your label on your wares.
As you have seen here, there are lots of options when it comes to making money with your hobby. What are you waiting for? Hope this has given you some good ideas about finding out what your passion or talent is. Click To Tweet This
